Nationally, adult day health centers are rapidly becoming
the
cornerstone of community-based long-term care. In Iowa City, Iowa,
Pentacrest, Inc., an Abbe Corporation formed in 1996, operates an
innovative adult day health center called Pathways.
 |
Pathways
is designed to prevent premature or unnecessary institutionalization of
adults with physical and/or psychological challenges. The Center serves
people age 18 and older who require daily living assistance due to conditions
such as stroke, arthritis, vision-loss, multiple sclerosis, depression,
and Alzheimer's disease. A multidisciplinary team of professionals works
together to create a nurturing environment and provide a comprehensive
array of services. |

Core services offered at Pathways include:
- transportation
- meals and snacks

family member or you. Fees to participate in Pathways are based on ability
to pay. For additional information, call 319/339-6162.
The Center is open 6:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., Monday through
Friday.
